What is Agile Denver?

Agile Denver is a professional community focused on bringing together Front Range software engineering professionals. The focus of this group is Agile software development topics and related practices and technologies.

Why should I participate?

To participate in a local forum to learn about Agile software development and to share your experiences with these methodologies. Hopefully, this will just be the initial rallying point and the community will grow to cover other topics of interest and provide other forms of value to its members.

How can I help?

Where are Agile Denver meetings held?

Our monthly meetings are normally held at the either the downtown Auraria Campus or the PPA Event Center. Both locations are near Downtown Denver. Meetings at the Auraria Campus will most likely be held at the Tivoli Student Union just off of Auraria Parkway and Ninth Street in Denver.

When are the meetings?

Our monthly meetings are normally held on the fourth Monday of the month from January through October. Meetings may be held early or cancelled in November and December given the holidays. Unless otherwise specified, the auditorium doors are open by 6:00 PM, and you may arrive a little earlier to network or enjoy any sponsored refreshments in the auditorium lobby. Meeting announcements are made around 6:30 PM and the presentation begins around 6:35 PM.

How much does it cost to attend?

There is no fee to participate in Agile Denver or to attend monthly meetings. We are always seeking sponsors to help defray costs. If your company may be interested in basic sponsorship or an in-kind donation, please contact us.

Why did the name change?

As announced at the August 2004 meeting, this community will be known as Agile Denver. Although we have a new name and website address, our mailing list setup will remain the same until further notice.

Agile Denver has transformed since it was started in August 2000. Initially a small group of developers and a few testers focused on Extreme Programming, we now count members from various career paths and with varied Agile software development interests.

In winning the opportunity to host next year's Agile United conference, the national agile community now sees us as part of the effort to successfully bring together the XP/Agile Universe and Agile Development conferences.

Our new name more accurately reflects our community today. This change demonstrates that going forward we are one community of shared experiences and new ideas.
