Call for Volunteers

  • Build and energize Denver's downtown Agile community while developing your leadership and event management skills.

What You'll Do: Host monthly events in downtown Denver, bringing together practitioners and thought leaders in a vibrant community setting. You'll coordinate with speakers to curate compelling content, work with venues to create welcoming spaces, connect with sponsors to support our mission, and facilitate networking that turns attendees into an engaged community. You'll own the full event lifecycle—from planning to execution to post-event follow-up.

The Opportunity: Work alongside an active Agile Denver board with deep expertise and a collaborative culture. You'll have the backing of half a dozen affiliated groups spanning from Boulder to Centennial, giving you a ready network and proven playbooks. You'll receive full organizational support including established vendor relationships, marketing channels, and mentorship from experienced community builders. This is your chance to shape Denver's Agile landscape while building a visible leadership portfolio.

What We're Looking For: A community builder who thrives on bringing people together. Event planning or Agile community experience is a plus, but passion for building connections and strong organizational skills are what matter most. You should be comfortable juggling multiple stakeholders and energized by creating experiences that people look forward to each month.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hours/month, concentrated around event week once a month with flexibility to fit your schedule.

  • Help shape the financial future of Denver’s Agile community while learning nonprofit treasury management firsthand.

    What You’ll Do:
Work directly with our Treasurer to manage day-to-day finances—maintaining books in QuickBooks, handling state and federal filings, presenting monthly reports to the board, and managing our budget. You’ll get real experience with the full scope of nonprofit financial operations.

    The Opportunity:
Our current Treasurer completes her term in 2026. This role is designed as a succession path—you’ll be strongly positioned for board nomination as the next Treasurer if it’s a mutual fit.

    What We’re Looking For:
Someone who wants to combine financial skills with community impact. Accounting or bookkeeping background helpful but not required—willingness to learn and attention to detail matter most.

    Time Commitment:
15 hours/month, with flexibility around your schedule.

  • Make our quarterly events unforgettable—where the Agile community comes together, connections spark, and people leave energized.

What You'll Do: Partner with the board to bring our quarterly signature events to life. You'll handle the behind-the-scenes magic—coordinating vendors, managing registration, arranging catering, setting up spaces, and solving the hundred small details that make events run smoothly. But this isn't just logistics: you'll infuse each event with energy and creativity, designing experiences that feel welcoming, engaging, and genuinely fun. From check-in to closing remarks, you'll ensure every attendee feels the warmth of our community.

The Opportunity: You'll work closely with a supportive board that values creativity and wants these events to be highlights of our community calendar. Shape the experience—whether that's interactive icebreakers, creative networking formats, memorable swag, or surprise moments that make people smile. You'll have flexibility to experiment and make each event better than the last, with full organizational backing and resources.

What We're Looking For: Someone who loves the thrill of pulling off a great event and has an eye for what makes gatherings memorable. You're detail-oriented enough to manage timelines and vendor communications, but creative enough to think beyond the standard playbook. Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy creating spaces where people connect and have a good time.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hours/month, and maybe more in the 2-3 weeks before each quarterly event.

  • Amplify our community's voice and keep our events buzzing with the right message, at the right time, on the right channels.

What You'll Do: Build and execute our event promotion strategy—creating a consistent cadence that builds momentum from save-the-date through day-of reminders across LinkedIn, Facebook, Slack, and other channels. You'll craft compelling event messaging that drives registrations, coordinate promotional timelines with event leads, and ensure our community never misses what's happening. Beyond event promotion, you'll keep our social presence alive with community-focused content that celebrates member achievements, shares Agile insights, and sparks conversations between our gatherings.

The Opportunity: Take ownership of Agile Denver's marketing voice and shape how hundreds of practitioners discover and engage with our community. You'll work with board members and event leads who'll provide content and direction, but the creative execution and timing strategy is yours. Experiment with different approaches, learn what resonates, and watch your campaigns directly translate into packed rooms and engaged participants. Plus, you'll build a portfolio of B2B/community marketing work that demonstrates real impact.

What We're Looking For: Someone who understands social media strategy and can balance promotional content with authentic community building. You're organized enough to plan campaigns weeks ahead but nimble enough to jump on timely opportunities. Experience with LinkedIn and professional community marketing is a plus, but enthusiasm for our mission and strong writing skills are what matter most.

Time Commitment: 10-20 hours/month, with flexibility to batch content creation and scheduling around your availability.

  • Be the connector who brings people into our community—representing Agile Denver across events, building relationships, and growing our membership one conversation at a time.

What You'll Do: Serve as Agile Denver's friendly face in the broader Denver tech and business community. You'll attend other community events (meetups, conferences, networking gatherings) and connect people to the right Agile Denver SIG for their interests—whether someone's curious about coaching, engineering practices, or product management. At our own events, you'll work the room with purpose: welcoming newcomers, highlighting upcoming quarterly events, and encouraging attendees to register for what's next. You'll make sure everyone knows about our free individual membership and help them sign up on the spot. Perhaps most importantly, you'll identify companies who'd benefit from corporate membership, start those conversations, and connect them with board members to close the loop.

The Opportunity: Build meaningful relationships while expanding your own network across Denver's Agile community. You'll work closely with the board, gaining visibility and insider knowledge of how nonprofit communities operate. Perfect for someone who wants to deepen their presence in the local Agile ecosystem while developing business development and relationship management skills. You'll see direct results from your efforts as membership grows and new faces show up at events saying "someone told me I had to check this out."

What We're Looking For: A natural connector who genuinely enjoys meeting people and making introductions. You're comfortable starting conversations with strangers, can read a room to identify who might benefit from our community, and know how to make a compelling case without being pushy. Experience in sales, community organizing, or business development is helpful but not required—authentic enthusiasm for Agile Denver's mission is what matters most.

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours/month, flexibly attending 2-4 events per month on your schedule.
