Islands of Coherence: How a Small Group Can Change the World

This talk is aimed at agilistas and other change agents who may be frustrated at the pace of change, but still can’t help themselves: they MUST change our organizations.

I want to offer a new meme for organizational change: setting up islands of coherence inside complex adaptive systems that are far from equilibrium. Such islands have the capacity to shift entire systems, by resonating in a new key.

This talk is based on work by Ilya Priogine (complexity science), Arnold Mindell (process psychology), personal experience, a shamanic worldview, and my teaching partner, Randolf Speigner.
